Inspecting Idle Speed
 

It on my manual as one of the things I need to do, this is easy with a SGII, just see what the idle is and compare it to what its suppose to be right?

Well my idle is about 780rpm, I have been looking everywhere for a precise idle speed for my 1997 Accord but all I could find was someone saying that an accord of his (no known year) is suppose to be 750rpm

Anyone know where I can find what mine is suppose to be?

If you have the owner's manual, it should say. If not, see if you can get ahold of a factory repair manual, or the ones published by Helm's. (You can find downloadable PDFs for the latter online, at least for some Hondas.)

It'll probably be something like "750 +- 50 RPM, engine warmed up so that the cooling fan has come on at least twice".

I wouldn't be too worried about the idle RPM, the only purpose of the idle is to keep the engine turning over so that you dont have to restart the car every time you stop.

The speed of idle changes the amount of lubrication and heat generated however 50 rpm is not worth worrying about
I changed my idle to be as low as it could be without stalling and my car is running fine for many months (its probably not getting well lubricated though).
So i figure as long as your car doesn't stall at idle and the idle isn't so high that you are using lots of fuel then its probably ok.
