Installing in metro, injector issue?
Hi folks,
I'm getting ready to put together and install the mpguino spiffie kit in my '95 4 door 4 cylinder geo metro. In my research I've run into a few posts mentioning some sort of issue with hooking up the fuel injector at the end with the ECU on a metro, I couldn't find any detail about this in my searching, so now I'm asking before I start tearing it apart. My question is this, Is there an issue? do I have to take wiring through the firewall and tap the injector, or can I get away with making it much simpler, and bring all the wiring to the ECU? Thanks, Ben |
The ecu is a pain to get at under the dash. If you can get to it then it is fine to hook up there. I think most people would rather just run a wire out and hook up under the hood. It is a lot easier :)
Either way works fine though. |
not a metro, but an aveo
i gathered everything i needed to start digging into the ecm connectors to grab the vss and inj low wires. got to the car and saw how much if a PIA it would be and decided going after the end source would be much much easier. took me a lot less time to get the correct wires that way than is would have digging through the ECM wire bundle. |
Thanks for the help guys! I guess I'll take a look at the ecu, and then decide... :)
Unfortunately though, I ran my Metro into a tree, so assembling and installing the MPGuino , will have to be delayed further, until I can put the front end back together, and have a drivable vehicle... Thanks! |
