Instructables has an electric motorcycle on their page right now.

See it at:

haha, I just read the weekly newsletter and saw that :p

very cool :D

i saw that and have wanted to do something similar for a long time (in a sport bike) and have the side panels on so it still looks stock. not that i dont want people to know im on an electric bike (they might guess because of how quite it is) i just dont want to look cheeky about it.

The VF700 and vf500's didn't have a full fairing, so the sides were open.

I chose a VFR700F for the same reason as you point out... I wanted it to look more stock.

I've been Following Ben's website for a while, just saw this instructable... he really did a great job... and is one of THE reasons I chose to convert a motorcycle. Great job.

Too bad he's selling it... but he's going to fund another project.

then its a good thing he's selling it, having more high quality electric motorcycles on the road will be great :) do you have any pics of your bike?

Hello,
Just wanted to stop in and say hi, I appreciate the nice comments on my bike. I did put it up for sale to help fund my next project, but it's gotten so much attention from putting it online that I don't know if I can part with it now.

Ben

Ben, you always have to keep the first one!

you did a great job on it... be very proud.

If nothing else, keep it in the community.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I also don't want to open another for this link. I hope it hasn't been posted somewhere else. I didn't look too hard.

Looks like you'll save on tires if you buy one.

haha, that thing is a joke.....

I can see it now:

*cruising along, 40 miles an hour, on the way to work..... some lady walks out in front of you while she's walking her dog.... and, you brake.... and over the handlebars you go, and the Uno goes overtop you, and slams into the poor old lady*

The problem with this is, you are higher than the pivot point of the vehicle. The center of gravity is too high and if you to brake, the weight shifts forward and off you go.

It sure looks cool, but thats about it.

I can see George Bush on it....
