iPhone and iPad to analog tv
I've got an old 27 inch analog tv that still works there is nothing wrong with it. Being my household now has an iPhone 6 and newest gen iPad, Id like to know if I can mirror the newer devices onto the larger tv screen? I'd like to watch videos ie YouTube on the bigger screen, but if I couldn't get videos to display I'd be happy with general web surfing on the bigger screen. I'm not sure if an adaptor/converter exists (affordably) for this?
My tv, being an old analog unit, does not have modern hdmi ports but it does have the 3 RCA ports (red, white, yellow). |
Yes, *IF* you happen to STILL have one of those 2009 FCC Digital-to-Analog converter boxes available. Remember, the iPhone and iPad are digital devices, while that old TV is an analog device. Good news, however, is those old converters should be dirt-cheap available now...especially 'used' ones.

Theres a 30pin to rca cable Apple Composite AV Cable - Apple Store (U.S.)
I don't see a lighting to rca, but I'd imagine it would work with a lightning to 30pin adapter, but then between the 2 pieces you're probably looking at $80 |
the converter boxes I know were tuners, he needs something to go from vga or hdmi (whatever, don't really care what apple does) to composite.
This "might" work, only $3 to try... Newest TV RCA Video Composite AV Cable for Apple iPad iPhone iPod Touch White | eBay |
Thanks guys. I've seen those that you ve posted but my tv doesn't have a USB port so they likely won't work?

The usb doesn't need to be connected to anything to work
