Jaguar Type 00 concept
Quite a 'styling' departure for Jaguar. In 2026, they plan to introduce a 'GT' based on this concept.

Styling isn't the only departure. Significantly, all electric models. Curiously, while the ad is about the 'rainbow' people, the examples shown only come in pink and blue. |

The face-lifted 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Type (awd) is on my wish list should some idiot total my G37X Infiniti coupe (awd). I consider the F-Type one of the most beautiful and yet affordable cars ever made. Why the heck couldn't they remain on that path? If I were to consider the Type 00 concept as an additional model, a choice and not an ultimatum perhaps I could eventually embrace it despite being more of a small car guy and not an over the top status symbol type of person. Of interest, someone did an illustration of a Tesla Cybertruck with Type 00 front and rear textures pasted over them. It at least gave the Tesla some character other than Killbot. EDIT: Type 00 might be aerodynamic, but is it appealing? We know that aerodynamics don't sell, so perhaps this is a brilliant design that echos long hooded powerful cars of the past. We will have to see what history decides. Monday, July 14, 2014 Very Long Hoods Donald Pittenger https://carstylecritic.blogspot.com/...ong-hoods.html Quote:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...front%2016.png https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...front%2018.png It's interesting to compare. The hood line is lowered, the fender tops remain but the wheel wells are tightened, top and rear fenders are boat tailed. The split rear windows are nice. https://blogger.googleusercontent.co...089%20open.png |
Hmmm all that effort and they are running spoke wheels.

That long hood will probably be a frunk. Despite the car being aerodynamic, the concept is otherwise entirely form over function.
