Just bought a Civic VX, where to get it worked on

Hello ecomodders! I am new to the site. I just bought my first Civic VX. Drove it 120 miles this weekend.

The front end seems to be a little worn, some noises and coming from the front end.

Would you have any recommendations about where to get shock/strut/cv-joint/bearing work done? My other car is an Accord that I usually take to the Honda dealer, but I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do for a car this old...

I do my own work, but if you can't, check here for recommended mechanics:

Thanks Gasoline Fumes, looks like a great resource.

Definitely stay away from the dealers with a Honda this old. On two occasions I went to the dealer for a part I didn't want to get through the aftermarket, and I was surprised how little the mechanics seemed to know about my car. I guess they rarely see these older Civics! By comparison, the men and women behind the counter at my O'Reilly's often can visualize the engine, or have a Civic themselves. I guess they see a lot of the older Civics!

I think you are right California98Civic, took it to the local dealer here and they were only willing to do the minimum for safety. They did correctly diagnose a broken axle and replace it. But I think I will be better off going to a motor sports oriented place that has worked on these cars more often, and care more about the car than the minimum for safety.
