Just getting started

Hey y'all from down in TN. I am just getting started with all of this, but I am making solid progress with my 97 Metro.

I really want to see if I can find some headlight covers for it, and maybe some skirts for the back wheels. I looked everywhere, and even tried to make them using plexi, a heatgun, and a coffee can (I read that somewhere). It was not pretty at all!!!!!!!!

Hey Will, welcome to ecomodder! Looking at your fuel log I'd say you're off to a great start already, :)

Welcome to the site. I'm sure you've seen MetroMPG.com already?

Yeah, I saw Metro MPG. It had some really great stuff. I think that is where I got the idea to make the headlight covers, but when I finished they looked more like modern art. Maybe I should call a museum..... HA HA

You could upgrade those lights to the kind on my car and MetroMPG has. They are the aerodynamic molded lights, but fog over pretty easily.

CoyoteX did some clear covers on his old XFi to cover the headlight buckets.

How come yours didn't turn out? What happened?

I don't know, I think it was a little too much heat, or too much time in one spot. I kept melting parts of it or not getting the right bends. I finally gave up and decided to try something different.

I like Johnny Mullet's idea above, but I will have to find one with those lights and make sure they are a good fit to mine. I still have some structual damage to the front end of mine from the previous owner. I have it functional but, this car has been a real test of patience. I guess it's better than the junk yard it was bound for...

Hey, Has any Metro owners tried the new e3 sparkplugs in your cars? I am curious to see if they work.....
