Just made my first gas log!
Hello everyone, I have been looking over these forums for a few weeks now. This website is addicting!
I have a 1998 Honda civic, 1.6l manual. This car is very weak in power, however, it is capable of huge mpg numbers. I have enjoyed my visits here (especially the diy section) and appreciate everyone's kindness! I am starting a project with this vehicle. If anyone is interested in looking over my vehicle, I have spent a few hours creating a google document located here........ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...7soXpYQTs/edit |
Welcome to ecomodder.
Low power is OK. 1) You don't need much power to cruise along at 50-60 mph. 2) Acceleration will put a fairly high load on a low powered engine, so you'll get in the high BSFC region and make the most HP at the best fuel consumption. |
Welcome to the site.
You must come from owning and driving v6 or v8 engined vehicles. I've never daily driven a car with larger than a 2.0L engine (I have of course driven them from time to time), and I'd never say they're very low power. I'd say they're more than adequate to get me from point A to point B. You'll get used to it and I see you already are. 45 mpg is a pretty good start! :) |

xxxxxxx I started to work on the undercarriage. About 20 minutes into it, I started getting a sharp pain to my kidneys... ended up with a kidney stone and an infection, antibiotics are kicking my ass atm... I will be fine, unfortunately this is my 3rd one.... everyone always says the 3rd child is the easiest to have. I just got my tracking for the scan gauge!! |
