Kei mini trucks and microvans are road-legal where I live

And there are lots of Chinese copies of the Suzuki Carry in my hometown...

A local equivalent to the soccer-mon van?

Many actually used for work.

We just don't have the option for 4WD and automatic transmission, otherwise they would become even more popular back here...

I can almost see the warning sticker on the sun visor:

Warning: come to a full stop before turning corners! Do not drive on windy days!

Road legal here too but don't sell any more.

Why would you buy a van with zero handling, quite a lot of thirst and no performance to tap about vs a car based van with all of that ?

I don't know if I'd drive a vehicle that said EFFR ( F'r ) right below me. Even if it was true.

Personally, I really like the Cushman Trucksters and those variants for light duty application. The only Kei class car Id really want is the Suzuki Cappuccino.

Truckster with diesel/3 speed and 4x4 can outwork large 'heavy duty' trucks because they're small, light, nimble, and have incredible payload capacity while maintaining the ability to reach normal top speed, approximately 40-50mph depending on actual drivetrain and tire selection.

Their payload-to-size ratio is still appealing back here. But since many of these Chinese mini trucks have no airbags and no ABS brakes, seems like they're not gonna be available brand-new back here anymore...
