Kiwi vs Scangauge

I read the article here about the kiwi. Sounds impressive. Should give the scangauge a run for the market. Price seems reasonable, but a little high.

Does anyone have the Kiwi yet and can report on it?

It's pretty new. I suggest people wait before tossing $300 at it until ecomodder gets our hands on one for some real testing. I would assume most of us know enough to not need the extra help.

I'm from New Zealand. We are called 'Kiwis' after own national bird, the kiwi. I'm thinking there may be a copywrite issue here?

Yea, the first thing I thought of was that it has to be from NZ.

Love your country. Been there several times.

I have finally picked up my 'test' PLX Kiwi. Ordered early July, shipped in the 2nd week of August, but I only p/u from my US address yesterday.

I will be doing a review on it for sure... so far it's 50/50. Will need another day or so on multiple vehicles to see where the kinks are.

It's definately pretty, looks fantastic at night. Have a few issues already, but I'm sure they'll get worked on.

Comes with a mount and a PC cable. However, the OBDII cable is integrated. They could have learned from the SGI Big Box version on that one. So no snaking the cable into place and then pulling out as you need to load up new flowery animations on the PC.

Daox also currently has one, waiting for him to get some internets back so he can report on it, :)

here is one review that points out a few issues I've alreay noted, like the buttons...

I've been using the kiwi for about a week now. However, I'll save the review for the blog. Comming soon... :)
