Solo by Electra Meccanica

https://newatlas.com/electra-meccani...duction/55453/here's a link to a website offering some high-accuracy technical images for anyone following this 3-wheeler.
http://https://www.coroflot.com/robk...Meccanica-Solo
here's a link to another site, where, if you'll scroll down, there's a dry lakebed video of the Solo. It's not as dusty as El Mirage, but you can see some of the 'flow.'

Solo dust flow imaging

https://www.kimballstock.com/results...s1=three+wheelIt appears that the flow exiting the rear of the front wheelhouses separates, and never reattaches, keeping everything below the beltline 'dirty'.
The Fuel Vapor Technologies Ale' 3-wheeler provided more sectional density aft of the wheel arches for such issues.

Coroflot link errs with "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN"

Newatlas link has the video.

I wanted to see the high-accuracy technical images, could you try linking those directly?

edit: The kimballstock link returns a different result at this timje in this location. No flow illustrations. Duryea, Messerschmitt, Aptera, Peel, etc. and whatever that orange thing is.

[just trying to be helpful]

There aren't any flow illustrations for the Fuel Vapor Ale'.
That said, the sectional density of the front 'fenders' on the Ale' would make the flow separation of the Solo impossible.

link images directly

I've never learned. And whenever I asked about it, was met with crickets.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) There are some 'true length' images provided at the site.
2) We're given the length, width, and height.
3) Either with drawing instruments, or a scan into CAD, the frontal projected area could be ascertained from the front elevation given.
4) The plan-view can be used to extrapolate the ' Lang Heck ' of the full-boat-tailed vehicle.
5) Now, knowing the original, un-mutilated length, we can draw the side elevation extrapolation, from which to study the full, pre-mutilation roof contour.
6) Solo is rated at 194.82-mpg-e.
7) That could be verified, and under 'what' conditions.
8) From there, we could begin noodling, to reverse-engineer the Cd and Rolling resistance from the Road Load.
9) They can run, but they can't hide!

I've tried.

Heres a test, the orange thing on kimballstock:

Expressed as code:
Code:
https://www.kimballstock.com/pix/car/p/01/aut-09-rk0993-01p.jpg
One can click on the thumbnail to open the actual pic, right-click on it to copy the location URL (or copy from the address bar), then come to Ecomodder and create an IMG tag and paste.

ELSE you can roll your own by typing [left bracket]IMG[right bracket] [left bracket]/IMG[right bracket]

Which is more work.

Driving the Solo, I got the sense that it may have more potential as a vehicle for campus police, parking enforcement, and the like, rather than commuters. And the market agrees.

Of the 100-some-odd Solos that have made it to customers since deliveries began in October, around 60% have gone to commercial buyers, ElectraMeccanica CEO Kevin Pavlov told me. He was anticipating a sales breakdown more like 50-50.

AeroStealth drove the new one last month, in San Diego, California, at the 'Fully-Charged Live' get together. He liked it. And would like the upcoming 2-place variant that's in the pipeline.
I analyzed the plan-view of the newest version. The lower body is problematic for attached flow, while above the beltline it's pretty sweet!
