Lit Motors' C-1 (video)

Ready for this? Here's a vehicle you might find interesting, not sure if its a bike or a car, but I thought the motorcycle folks would find it a trip, so here you go:

Looks good, but the $24k projected price tag is a bit steep, methinks.

They won't be able to keep the name me think as it is a BMW Scooter with a roof and safety belt wich did not even required the use of a helmet

And for the particular purpose of safety and electric there is also this :

Renault TWIZY.

I rode one the other day, it was good fun !

And at 8K€, it makes sense

I hate to point out that that bike has been "2 years from production" for more than 2 years. Kim Incorporated in 2110.

I'm afraid it's mostly vaporware. They only have one concept model and that's it. Last I read he was still seeking investors. I was looking for investment opportunities when I came across it, but sadly had to pass on it as it reminded me of the Bricklin fiasco.

If I were to hit the lottery where losing the money wouldn't be that big of a deal I'd be beating down his door with a fist full of money.

Would love to have one, but not at that price tag. I can buy a nice hybrid car for that.

And as for the BMW scooter, if memory serves me well it has been discontinued for some time now.

Yep, did a little quick research and found this statement.

"After selling 10,614 units in 2001, BMW only sold 2,000 units in 2002, and ceased production of the C1 in October 2002. It was never made available in the USA. "

I'd buy one if of the BMW's if were big enough for m 6'2" frame. The Chinese triied to market a copy of one a few years back, but it too failed to sell. Mainly because it was too small for Americans. I couldn't even get inside it.

I would like to build a top and windscreen for a Burgman 650, simular to the BMW. But the C-1 Electric from Sanfranscisco would make a great city transport.

Well just import one of those Twizy, they are readily available here in France.
Price tag is with a lease on the battery thought ...

The numbers are too good

Hello,

A friend sent me this link and after reading it, I could not believe it.

900 lbs, but was supposed to go 200 miles on a charge?

With two electric gyros trying to keep it upright?

As I told my friend, I just don't see it happening. Brammo, with the Empulse, has a top range of 100 miles.

The Tesla Roadster, which has a range of 200, the battery weighs in at 900lbs. Yes, I realize this is lighter than a Tesla by more than half, but even if you made the battery weigh 400 lbs, where are they going to fit it with the gyros, the electric motors, controllers, charger, and the 1+1 occupants?

I think the self righting bike has some promise, but I cannot buy those figures.

I think the idea has promise, using gyros.

The Tango has all this and more right now. Soon the Tango will be at a price point affordable to the masses.

I agree that after 2 years this car should be farther along.
