Live in southern california? Post here! (possible future meetups)

If you live in Southern California, and are interested in meeting with fellow ecomodders, please post here.

Also, leave your location on the following map, be sure to include your forum name so we can see who you are. Don't mark your location right on top of where you actually live! Try a nearby intersection or neighborhood.

Would be great to do an ecomodders meetup in socal, If we can get enough people and do some advanced planning maybe we can do a get together and show off our ecomodded cars... maybe an eco-race (see who can drive from point X to point X with the highest mileage) :D

Current # of socal ecomodders: 5

When the number hits XXX we will meet up!

I'd be down. I'm up by UCLA

getnpsi 08-05-2008 02:49 PM

A good thought. If everyone interested ends up being from LA, maybe we can look up when those HHO crowds have another meetup and combine them one day? I probably would never install that stuff on my car but checking out everyones' ideas is always neat.

We've already met, so the more the merrier. I like what getnpsi suggests also.

I am in San Diego but if a group of good people are going I'd drive up

blackjackel 08-06-2008 02:40 AM

I love getnpsi's idea of meeting up with the HHO crowd too.

How about we all vote for a certain number, and when we reach that democratically elected number we then meet up. I suggest we propose a number slightly higher than we would like to see and account for 1/3 of the people NOT showing up (for whatever reason). Is this a good idea?

If so, I say about 20 people.

I live in San Diego County and avoid LA at all costs, even if I'm heading to northern California. There are ways to avoid LA that only add a couple miles to your log.

Added a map system like the sticky so we can organize where we all are and possibly find a center point for all of us to meet (after all, that would be the most fuel efficient thing to do, won't it?) ;)

I'm in the San Diego area and may be interested in meeting up

blackjackel 10-19-2008 01:02 AM

Ok well I'm currently in Australia and will be here for another 3 weeks... but it looks like we have over 10 people, I think its time we start planning the meetup.

It looks like we have 11 people, 9 of which are registered on the map, I would be happy with a turnout of 5 people out of the 11. Lets all make the meetup a few months from now to give people a chance to alter their schedules and such, but Im open to any and all suggestions.

I'm thinking sometime in december? Or would that be too hectic for everyone?

Arkaneinc 10-23-2008 05:59 PM

That'd be cool. I'm new to this. But I live in Fullerton,Ca near Disneyland.

Hi Camty25 , Welcome to the forum. This thread is pretty old but if people want ot get together I would be be willing to come down from the SF bay area. HHO is the use of electrolysis to release the hydrogen gas from water ( H2O), the hydrogen is then sucked into the engine's intake system where it is ignited and supposedly makes for an increase in fuel economy. The only problem is that it doesn't work.
The best improvements you can make are pretty simple and don't cost much such as inflating your tires to the sidewall max, installing a grille block, using efficient driving techniques. There are lots of very smart and helpful people here to assist you . I'd recommend putting your car garage entry so that yo can track your mileage and document changes.
all the best , Low & Slow

I'm in Temecula, and would enjoy meeting up.

Temecula might be a nice central location for a so cal meet too, since we are approx 90 minutes from san diego, los angeles, and palm springs, and have lots of nice scenic roads to travel.
