Youngest stepdaughter mentioned the wife and I living in their beach house off season. We pay them what we pay to live at our house, sell our house, and pocket 300 grand. This would prevent them from HAVING to rent the house to cover some of the expenses. We can stay at their houses when they are at the beach house, if we wish, not homeless, or we could take our own vacation.
For that much cash, tax free, I'd consider living in a Metro, the wife doesn't want to get rid of the mountain of crap she has accumulated. Thus the stalemate. But, I could have my project finished quickly. Thus the pressure ;) regards mech |
A true bad ass.

His blog is great. Beautiful photos.

This gentleman knows how to live!

Living in my car for a year and a half was a satisfying experience, although I was hardly roughing it. I put my $8/month gym membership to use getting a workout and taking daily showers. I'd visit my parents on the weekend to do laundry and change up my wardrobe, as well as help out around the farm.
I can't say I had a satisfying relationship with the opposite sex though, which is probably the main reason I eventually started paying rent like normal people do. |
Hey, I can beat that. Used to live out of an Austin-Healey Sprite.

Seems like he has a more enjoyable camping experience than some folks with fancy trailers and motorhomes that have all the functionality of a modern apartment, and the rather high cost associated to that...

Would be nice to see what his actual camper situation is beyond that one shot of the passenger door. He seems to have all the seats (except the driver's of course) removed and a platform inside.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Dt4ejMTdXY...tove-small.JPG An even more interesting setup: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/SSPX0056.jpg http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/SSPX0055.jpg http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/SSPX0054.jpg http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n...r/SSPX0053.jpg You'll see things like that around Bisbee AZ or most music festivals. How about a boattail? http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/au...tail-metro.jpg And a sleeping area in the boattail? (Looks overloaded with nothing in it to me.) http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/in...h=139399;image http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/in...h=139400;image http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/in...h=139401;image Still, I think I'd look for an Escort/Focus/Corolla/Accord wagon (or even a Toyota vanowagon or other 4 cyl minivan) and have a ton more room. I doubt he's moving that vehicle much. However, maybe a tiny trailer is behind that ecomodder is the best decision? http://tinyhousetalk.com/how-to-buil...rdrop-trailer/ |
One more thought, slatted ikea wood bases (maybe the really light synthetic ones) would be lighter than plywood for you ecomodders headed to music festivals. Here's the idea in a minivan:
