Long-time lurker. Hello!

I'm a long-time lurker, and I have lurked long enough to feel like I know about half of you fairly well!

I've learned quite a lot from all of you from the various threads I've read, and it's about time to say hi, I figure.

I currently roll around in a 2000 Honda Accord Ex.... V6. (EPA 18/24)

I know, it's not a good platform to mod, but it's paid for (father paid for it, my college car, I'm 25). I can squeeze 22-23 MPG city out of it. Current mods: lower grill block.

So yeah. Hi!

Welcome Patrick! It's always good to have a lurker quit their lurking!

You do know there is no turning back now... right? :):p

23mpg.

There's lots of room in the sky above you. You're in for one hell of a paradigm shift.

As a lurker you've probably come across it a few times already, but I'm going to drop it here for the record: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...-mpg-5170.html

The biggest, and certainly most cost effective, change you can make is to the nut behind the wheel. Hint: that's you.

Tell us more about your ride, your usual drives, your usual driving style, and what you're hoping to accomplish. There's a huge pool of wisdom and experience (and an unfortunate puddle of snake oil) to take advantage of here, and I KNOW there are people who have useful insights to apply to your situation.

Thanks elhigh.

That's 23 city mpg on a 16 year old v6 rated at 18 city.

I've read the mods list, actually have a thread open about acquiring a newer car with better base mpg:

Vehicle purchase recommendations

Welcome to the site!

Swapping cars is nearly always a viable option despite most people not wanting to for some rationalized reason or another. I did this about a year ago and doubled the fuel economy I was getting. It essentially cost me nothing. I simply bought a car for the same price I knew I could sell my current car for.

So yeah. Hi!

No such thing!!!!
And being paid for makes it all the better to MOD!!!!!

My previous ride was a Infiniti Q45S. 340hp. I got 32+ on the road. drove it 270,000 miles.
Look at the links in my signature.
