Looking to get cheap car for town ecomods
Hi, I am looking at small, cheap cars for an "around town" car, mainly at 60, some 80km/h and rarely 100.
Main criteria are weight and small capacity, fuel efficient engine - is EFI better than carb'ed? There is a 1998 Ford Festiva with 114,000kms, 5spd manual for $750 with only a little bingle at front left. On further reading it appears some of these cars may not be that great i nterms of reliability and durability... I am in Australia. Is the Festiva good for modding or should I wait for a Mazda metro or something with a really tiny engine? (I think the Festiva is 1.5L) Edit: what other cars should I look out for? |
I've always liked the Suzuki Mighty Boy.

Smaller is always better for in-town economy. And yes, EFI is better than carb'd (all else being equal)
