Looking for someone who made an EV Fiero trans adapter
 

Hello!
I am looking for anyone who made their own Fiero EV (or similar) conversion transmission adapter. Just trying to gauge feasibility and challenges. I have a 1985 Fiero GT with a 4 speed and 2.8 that I would like to convert.

The same adapter stuff that bolts the S10 engine to the tranny should work for a Fiero aren't they the same 2.8 or 3.2 V6???

Not sure. I think the bell housing is different.

I think the 2.8 was only made in the small 60 degree bell housing pattern,
There is a 3.2 block that replaces it in pretty much all the rigs that used the 2.8. Now its possible Pontiac did something weird, but the Fiero was intended to be a scrap bin car from the beginning, to keep its cost down. It uses parts from lots of GM cars.

The 4 cyl was the classic Iron duke...

I'd check the replacement long block part number between the Fiero and a S10 blazer... Same year.. Any standard auto parts store should be able to tell you if its the same number. (Bet its on the internet as well...)

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market seems to think that both engine sizes were a perfect match for a hand full of other GM cars.

to the uneducated, the frame, body and interior are unique to the fiero(not "parts bin"); now the front steering is from a chevette and the rear is a citation front end(rotated 180, kind of ingenious but bean counter none the less)

Now for the engines they use the standard gm front engine pattern; used on most front wheel gm car(up until the ecotec engine introduction), that's why you can install any engine from a 1.8l ohv j-body engine all the way to the caddy 4.9l(not the northstar)

GM Bellhousing Bolt Patterns

that web site has the bolt pattern, then you need to buy a piece of 1/8" aluminum, get the pattern transfered to the aluminum, drill nessasary holes, finding the input shaft center, another set of holes for bolting the motor to the adapter, a coupler for motor to transmission. and that's more the leave it in gear and forget it(allowing the motor to spin the car up to speed)

ps. if that doesn't help look up "60 degree v6 bellhousing pattern"
