Saw a car in a creek today

I wish I'd had a camera. No cell phone, no camera...

There's a walking/biking trail network through the city made on old rail beds, and one follows a stream (maybe 20 feet wide) through the city. I came around a corner on my bike today and was face to face with a car in the middle of the stream, driver's door open, headlights on, and airbags deployed!

Turns out the elderly driver went over a 15 foot high embankment on the other side of the stream from a grocery store parking lot. (He was OK.)

Later I happened to go by again when the tow truck was pulling it out. Last thing the nice police lady did who was attending the scene: opened the car's trunk to retrieve the man's groceries for him.

ah i thought the post was about something else
in my county, there is a part of it where its a bit rural. theres a road where theres no bridge over a creek and every has to ford the creek to pass. the creek on a wet season get get as high as 2-3 feet. i dont know why people still cross. ive seen jettas go across, perfectly fine though.

Perhaps he was re-living his days at the David Taylor Water Tow Basin in Maryland. You should have seen me trying to cross a 70-inch wide dam spillway in my 65-inch track Ghia in Lubbock.Everything was great 'til I got to the center of the dam, where the concrete had been saw-cut away in alternating one-foot chunks! The Police must have been so amused watching me" back" my way off that narrow expanse, that they just drove away without ever citing me.I think I was the theme for" Dumb and Dumber".----------------- Glad the elderly fella was okay,he might be a relation!
