Lurker Coming Out
 

Hi, I'm Veen. I've been lurking on the site for a long time. Recently got rid of my rusting out '02 Focus and replaced it with a '09 Honda FIT Sport manual. Having a great time with the built in fuel economy meter. Just bought an UltraGuage for more accurate readings.

Hoping to do some aero mods in the future.

I'm thinking about a rear spoiler delete. I am getting the ultra gauge to do some proper testing with it. The tricky part is finding some flat ground around here...

Definitely want to put in an engine heater before the winter. I'm debating between the Genuine Honda frost plug heater and a Kats circulating heater.

I've been very happy with the efficiency I've been getting in the FIT. I have about a 20 mile each way commute to work with lots of elevation change. I was doing EOC for a while but started to get worried about the wear on the engine and transmission with bump starting. So far my best tank has been 45 MPG and that was without any EOC.

I'd go with whichever heater has the highest output. Some of the frost plug ones are pretty wimpy (thought they may be more efficient due to location).

The Fit is a neat car. I wish they'd geared 5th better for fuel economy.

The UG is going to change driving for you, sir. The stock gauge is good, but seeing actual numbers is the icing on grandma's cake :thumbup:

Check out/message PaleMelasian on here about bumpstarting a Fit. IIRC he is averaging around 70 mpg in his Fit, and he does quite a bit of EOC.
