Made a bumper block today(pic) and have a couple ?s

I made this today from a strong, flexible, semi transparent plastic. I got it from work (free). My car suffers from a very long warm up time in the winter. I'm hoping blocking the main source of air will improve warm up.

Was this a better choice than blocking the space between the bumper and hood? I could easily do that as well.

My only other mods are 52 psi in the tires, mudflaps and antenna removed.

Feel free to pick apart my cavaliers aerodynamics, I read the drag coefficient is .36 which amazes me it's so much worse than my cobras .32 (in avatar).

Thanks,
Michael

If that's packing tape you used to secure it on there...don't count on it keeping it on there very long...maybe a couple of weeks before the weather/sun degrades it to the point where it will fail. Maybe you can use the front license plate holders to screw the panel on? ;)

Looks really good. The percentage of open grill is similar to what I run on my Civic in winter - so I suspect it will work well in the cold season.

Come March or April, I can't continue to run a full lower block. I remove it bit by bit untill the radiator is completely unblocked by summer. My grill block isn't nearly as nice looking as yours, or as aerodynamic though.

It's a little stronger than regular packing tape, but you are right, not long term. The blue plastic has an adhesive on it also. If all goes well I'll cut one out of lexan and use the plate holder. It won't look so ghetto then.
