Those old cars really did not move very fast. This one more like 15 mph most of the time -- 20 would scare granny spitless. Most could not outrun a horse.
With the wheels and running gear (versus the parachute as mentioned), aerodynamics versus mechanical drag, I wonder which was actually higher?

As I recall, they said they did not need a speedometer, "When my Ford is running five miles an hour, the fender rattles; twelve miles an hour my teeth rattle; and fifteen miles an hour the transmission drops out."
