Mercedes E220 1994

Slow to update busy with moving but....

Allright since insurance company is slow and messed up

Thanks to a wild boar the cruiser has a messed up front left fender and front light but that is about it, she will be fixed

Anyway I have pressed my backup car "the rocket" into service, hauling me too and from work and she does so with impressive fuel consumption

Rear end needs to be fixed and differential changed and some rust

But she runs really well with 150 horsepower (twice what the cruiser has) and heat is almost instant(gotta love gas engines During winter) she is a long runner with more than 312 000km and counting :cool::thumbup:

Deer are the main hazard where I live and have damaged many of my vehicles over the years. All have been repaired and continued to use. I commute in an American version of an Opel Vectra B and have hit two deer at speed near the same crossing a couple years apart.

Oh deer :D

Funny caase my friend talked about his old opel vectra A that he ran into a whole pack of deer, killed 4 of them right away

we have mooses, wild boars, bagers and deer here, mooses and wild noars are the biggest and baddest for any car allthough all the above can wreak havoc

I rarely use the heater in a car, even though some places in Brazil do get a quite extreme winter too.

When your windshield is ice it is nice to scrape and soon see everything you missed melt and that hot air to the feet is a blessing

It is nice to see how great milage I get, my car has the lowest milage among other w124 E220, for example on spritmonitor most seem to average about 8,5 liter/100km, looking at fuelly avarage is around 10 liter/100km

and this is while also blending with about 25% E85, plans sometime later is to increase fuel pressure so I can blend around 50/50 E85 and gasoline

I never really had to deal with ice buildups on a windshield, yet a frosted one can be really annoying.

Yeah, I live in a warm southern state in the US where everybody gripes about the heat and humidity of our summertime. Anybody who makes such complaints to me gets reminded that at least we don't have to shovel humidity off the roads and sidewalks and scrape it off the windshields.

Every dog got his day.

since I dislike heat Ill take snow and ice over heat anytime :D

managed to get really low fuel consumption this fillup
6.8 L/100 km
34.5 mpg (US)

impressive for such an old car, this big and heavy

Can't say I really dislike heat, but sometimes an extreme weather either too hot ot too cold becomes annoying. Well, even though my hometown has both an extremely hot summer and a cold winter, maybe the fact that I have lived in Amazon from when I was a baby until I turned 6 got me quite used to a humid and hot weather.
