Merry Christmas to all.

Wishing all members a very Merry Christmas and a happy and especially safe New Year.

Cheers , Pete.

MetroMPG 12-20-2008 09:52 PM

Thanks, Pete! Same to you ... and all the other EcoModders.

MetroMPG,
Hope you guys are OK up there.
I saw on the news here the snow drifts , ice storms and power outages.

By the way we have the opposite problems...too much heat , bushfires and little water.

Still , looking forward to 2009 though.

Cheers , Pete.

I'm not looking forward to what happens immediately after the start of '09... I get old.

I've always considered 24 the starting point for "you're not a freakin youngster any more."

And though I feel that I'm already not a "freakin youngster" anymore.... it still bothers me that I'll be 24.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night.

I'd gladly trade you some of the precipitation right now.

I'm actually sitting in the Halifax airport at the moment; going to visit family for the holidays. I'm watching a wicked blizzard - the plate glass is flexing from the pressure changes. Gusts to 100 km/h, and drifts forming as I watch.

I'm here 7 hours ahead of my flight - on purpose - to beat the storm and avoid its effects on the roads early this morning. Also, the power is more likely to go out back in Lunenburg than here at the airport!

It was about a 140 km drive, took 3 hours, and I saw one car spin out into the median directly in front of me (not long after passing me), and the aftermath of a transport truck pushed off the road by a gust (probably an unloaded trailer).

Only managed 61 mpg (US). :o

Christ 12-21-2008 10:47 PM

Sure... rub it in.

Newest fill up on the Granny... 26MPG.. You're still like 2.25x higher MPG than me. But then again, you have 1/2 the pistons and 1/3 the engine size... and close to 1/3 the car. So I guess I can be happy with 26mpg.. especially given the bitter cold weather and the crappy fuel.

Visiting Cali for Festivus... comfortable outside in t-shirt and jeans... I hear there are nasty cold strong blizzards back home... I may not use the 2nd half of my round trip ticket...

I found this once years ago,
I hope you find it as enjoyable as I did.
Schultz.

!!Froehliche Weihnachten!!

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends and colleagues,
but it is so difficult in today’s world to know exactly what to say without
offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on there advice
I wish to say the following:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an
environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive,
gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced with
the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices
of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or
traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular
traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically
uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted Gregorian
calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice
of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our
country great and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical
ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is
subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no
alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to
actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void
where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the
wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual
application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance
of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is
limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole
discretion of the wisher.
No trees were harmed in the sending of this message.

Oh god no! You're not dumb if you don't get it, I didn't really know if anyone would... if you use those exact actions on the "greeting" in your post, you'll end up w/ a copy of it in a text file on your computer.

That's all it was! Just me saying "copyright infringement in action" LOL.

metroschultz 12-25-2008 05:59 PM

Oh............, well I got it from Chucks Blog anyway.
on a different note,
My kids listened to me at least once this year.
They gave me the 'Guino in kit form.
WooHoo!!!
now I have to break out my soldering iron and put it all together.
learn how to download the software and make it work.
fun stuff ahead.
Thanks All,
I'll be asking for help shortly, gotta get through the holidays first.
Schultz
