What should I do next for better mpg?

I drive a 2005 corolla.

+I switched to synthetic oil. Castro Syn 5w30. Should I use a better brand?Grade?
+Cranked up the psu on the tires. 38psu
+Changed the spark plugs-which would be best formpg?Platnium?Iraduim?othr?
+Replaced engine filter with K&N drop in. Was this a good idea?

What should I do next? I'm new to this forum. Give me some ideas. I"m new to this forum.
Any suggestions aprreciated

Thanks in advance

I removed my backseat and seatbelts along with the rear carpeting. Replace spark plug wires, replace fuel filter. I've been researching the use of different fuel additives and oil additives and haven't really seen much of a difference.
You could also try to put filler pieces in the front bumper inserts to become more aerodynamic. Rear some of the other topics I'm sure you will find somemore ideas.

Welcome

These tips got me immediate and cheap mpg improvements (assuming you didn't already do them).

We need to know a little more about you with the car. What kind of driving do you do? How much improvement are you aiming for? What are you willing to spend/do for it? Type of transmission?

Also, if you don't already have a way to get instantaneous feedback from your car in MPG, I suggest getting a device that will such as a SuperMID or Scangauge. Even a vacuum gauge can help in tailoring your driving style to be more efficient.

I would spring for the scangauge. If you deal with numbers, a bad number glaring back at you is great motivation to improve. Try to time all signal lights, it saves time AND fuel. Your mood also improves the fewer times you have to come to a stop. When you are ticked off you wont drive efficient. See the connection there?

In my corolla i use king oil (i don't think they have a web site)it is 100% synthetic. i also use their gasoline additive, i would guess that it gives me 1-2 mpg (never did any testing but i KNOW it works well for lubrication cause i used to run engines with no governor for 2-3 hours and never had any problems) From what i understand the corollas come w/ iridium plugs and are good 80,000+? sounds great and i can wait to see what happens

I would start with hypermiler driving tips, next to aero mods like grille block and the like, then to weight reduction and engine mods.

Definitely look at the hypermiling tips (link on the top of the page) first if you haven't yet. Synthetic tranny oil is a good upgrade too. Of course aero mods are good too if you do any highway, and even if you don't, grill blocks will help the car heat up faster.

I agree especially with the Scangauge tip. It gives you constant information and makes an enjoyable game of hypermiling. Without the gauge you won't know how well your doing until you fill up!
