Minnesota Car dealers selling Canadian Trucks
I have noticed this trend on and off for many years.
I am curious if I can take advantage of the Minnesota loophole to get a car sold in the US with slightly different Canadian options (like a manual transmission) from a Minnesota Chevy dealer. AKA If the Chevy dealer is willing to import and sell Canadian Chevy trucks why can’t I ask that same dealer to “get” a particular Canadian Optioned Chevy in their next truckload? This would avoid the military like raping process a consumer has to endure to try to buy a Canadian car and import to the US . https://www.traxforum.com/threads/ha...-the-usa.8298/ Anyone ever buy a Canadian car on accident or know of a dealer that would help? |
Look into the factory's warranty. Generally, a Canadian market vehicle won't have any warranty once you register it in the US: if you want ChevyUS to give warranty coverage, you should have bought a truck they sold, not one that ChevyCA sold. Maybe they'll be willing to sell you a factory service contract? I don't know.

So a non-issue. Primarily I like the fact that Chevy Canada has manual transmissions while US does not and further I see Canadian Trucks for sale at Minnesota dealerships so what I propose is obviously possible, just a question of if any of those dealers would selectively import something I actually want |
MTs also require less warranty work. :)
