Modified 2013 Leaf
Seller says it has 160 mile range on 48kwh capacity. 26K miles, and wants $14K.
2013 Nissan Leaf modified with 48kwhr battery has 160 miles range "I'm selling a 2013 Nissan Leaf. This car has been modified with an additional 24kwhr battery system. The total is 48kwh with the range is 160 miles. This can be charged and fast charged regularly. This basically has 2 battery systems. still has plenty of trunk space. Comes with 3 year no hassle warranty, call for more info. This has been modified by Hybrid Industries, the cost was $6000 " http://images.craigslist.org/00i0i_9...Bp_600x450.jpg |
not bad, I would roll with it if it were close, assuming the electronic bits weren't complete junk. I don't need the extra range, but others in the house could use it.
Any details on the conversion? |

Very cool mod.
|
First I've heard of that mod. Thanks for sharing it.
Though I'll admit I am slightly disappointed ... from the title, I thought we had a Leaf owner who joined us to show us all the mods that improved the car's crappy drag coefficient and improved range! |
I hope it has a (rear) suspension mod to go with the extra weight.

I hear you. Too many projects & not enough time.

the leaf isn't the draggiest thing in the world.
Fifth Place: Nissan Leaf it would need about a 28% improvement to match the model S cda (claimed 14hp @ 70mph, vs 18 for the leaf), but the leaf is ~1200lbs lighter. This user claims a %20 improvement from grill/mudflaps... Today, I went online to craigslist agajn to look at this Leaf. Still there. I then went and found my wife and said to her: "talk me out of buying this car." And she did! hahaha! Turns out she really prefers that cash going into the house improvements. ☺

Funny!
I hope you at least tried, "... we can live in the Leaf. But we can't drive the house..." |
Although we are all about mods at this site, my view of selling a car with mods is similar to joe everyman.
Basically the mods, no matter how much the cost are likely worth exactly $0 and possible even make the car worth less money because 1. It would have still been under warranty without mods. 2. 2013's can easily be bought for under $10k with the warranty and no mods. Perhaps that one person will find the car and buy it but I am guessing he will have to discount heavily to move it. Sad but true and this is my view on salvage title too, I will own a salvage car for myself but I would never spend much to have one. Ah well. |
