I got to ride the display unit at work and it was a blast:D

Anyone have one or any ideas if it is upgradable?

I have an employee discount so If I buy it I plan on taking off all the plastic and painting the frame and spokes black, upgrading the batteries, and maybe upgrading the motor..

I have a mountain bike but its suspension and heavy weight make it a bad choice for a conversion.. to me it looks like a fun little summer project I could ride to the store without burning gas and because it is a bike I do not need insurance..

thoughts?

I know this toy has 180lb weight limit, so my 160 should be fine:p

The motor on those is a weak point on hills if I remember right, along with the controller, but people do mod them, I think they are based off the curry tec drive train and they were pretty good when they started out, main worry I have is about their quality control and that is going to affect how long it lasts.

Do you think it is worth it as a project or should I convert a regular bike?
I am trying to keep this whole project under $300..

This is my current bike with limited room for batteries:
