Motorcycle mild eco mods

Hi all,
I Just thought to open this thread to shake things up and hopefully to start a discussion with you people about mild eco mods on motorcycles.
I got a Cbf600 2008 last year at a very very good price of its state.
Having the eco driving bug in me I started trackng the gas mileage, so far i have achieved an average of 55mpg US on the last 3.5k miles driven.

A mod i am considering doing is trying a non sealed chain.
Has anybody tried one? Is it maintenance hassle as people often tell?
Any good heavy duty chain to suggest?
Currently the bike has a DID vx3 x-ring 525 chain which I lube almost every other ride with engine oil. I haven’t yet needed to tighten it for the last 3.5k miles.

Thank you
Jimhs

It's been a while since I looked at the total parasitic losses of different chain types. Best I recall, for a bicycle, it's significant, and for a large displacement motorcycle, insignificant. However Redpoint5 would know much better than I.

I'm leaning toward a different sprocket being the low hanging fruit here, if you want to improve economy.

That was my first thought too.

I use a chain and cable lube on my bicycle. Gear changes are used by the Vetter Mileage Contest riders. See craigvetter.com on aerodynamic body shells.

Aero mods are not considered due to strict police and local regulations

A wind screen and a tail box should be legal but check the law carefully.
