Motorcycle streamlining ideas

Here's a link to an interesting page with some ideas for motorcycle streamlining dating from the late 1940s to now.

Some really neat and unusual designs, and amazing speeds for just 50ccs.

It is always a good idea to research what has been done to avoid making the same mistakes that were made a generation or two ago.

Older 50cc bikes were usually lighter, and their engines were usually 2-stroke. No valves to have any floating issue, can rev the hell out, and are easy to tune.

Interesting that the aerodynamic theory of most of these bikes is lacking. The entire back half in many cases. I would like a scaled up and improved version of the Kreidler Florett on my CBR250R.

What would you change - a longer tail?

Higher fairing to blend to a more normal head height. Better pure theoretical airfoil curve to the sides coming back to a pure point in the back but short. Maybe only 1 foot longer than the rear wheel. And then bulging back out to 9 inches wide at the top for the license plate, turn signals, and more storage volume.
