MPG at 80 MPH
http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/...psdfa59e82.jpg
We went to town today and on the way home we pulled 19.6 MPG at 80 MPH with just the Aerolid only. The baro was 26.13 in Hg and the Temp was 67 F. Winds were negligible out of the SW at 2 MPH. we were traveling north at the time. It looking like 20 MPG plus is easily doable with the boat tail added. On a related note I called a sign company to source 4 mm Chloroplast 4x8 ft sheets today. They have them in stock. |
Pulled 20 mpg st 80 mph with the boat tail on the truck today. I only grabbed this number going one direction so it is not averaged.

20mpg at 80mph is really good in a full size truck. I've made 16mpg before at that speed, with the aero kit and a regular LEER topper. Really need a Kammback to push my truck higher. Nice job!

20mpg isn't bad at all! I think I get somewhere around 50-55 at 80.
|
What do you mean 50 or 55 at 80 mph?

I assume you are talking about your Honda insight!

Yeah, the Insights get around that on the highway at 80 mph.
Normally I keep a semi aero shield in front of me at all times if I take I-4, and I do a little better now with the full belly pan, so on the highway I get about 75-100 mpg at 75 mph. I never go faster than that, and if I don't have a truck to cut the wind for me I keep it around 60-65 mph and still get 70 mpg. |
I am trying to produce one but it will only have 8 data points. Warmer weather would help.

55 mph 27 mpg. 65 mph 24 mpg.

Did you buy that aerolid or make it? Looks good.
|
It is a Brett Herndon creation.

Those are pretty good numbers aerostealth. You really have me hankering to get the aero kit fixed and reinstalled. Now that I finally got the VSS fixed for my Mpguino (and if the winds stay calm), I can finally get some mpg figures for my truck.

I went through my Trip data for the 2014-11-13 to 17 trip from Las Cruces, NM to Little Rock, AR thence back home via Oklahoma to Denton, TX then home on I-20 and then I-10. Using miles between cities, and my notes, I pieced together miles between gas station stops. This broke two composite entries into nine separate entries. I went back into the Fuel log for the Truck Naked and the Truck with Appliances and entered this new data into the fuel logs. This did not change the total miles traveled but it did add nine new entries after I deleted the two composite entries.
