MpGuino button covers

I have made button covers for the MpGuino I am preparing to build. I figured it would give a more finished look.

I do not have finished pictures of case yet. I am waiting to receive all my parts for build yet. I am going to hot glue/superglue the calculator keypad to inside of case over where my tactile switches will be at.

One more thing.

Make sure the calculator has the rubber buttons, the plastic ones are all separated. The rubber ones are connected together making easier to put into case.

An interesting idea! I'm thinking maybe I should lay out my PCB to support using the rubber switches as-is as a cost-cutting measure now...
To be more economically/ecologically friendly, you might want to save the rest of the buttons, and place stickers over them to get more sets of "1" "2" and "3" buttons out of each calculator

Went ahead and mounted the button covers in case.

Good idea. Ive thought about doing this, but not with rubber buttons. Just with buttons from other things with tact switches, setting the clearances and just having them lay in there. The rubber buttons seems much easier to do though.

Id probably just use my rubbing compound or something like that to take the graphics right off. Who cares what they read. Then Id have enough for a bunch of guinos. But for a dollar, its not a big deal either way.

Another plus to button covers is added circuit protection. Otherwise sweat from fingers might leak down into the tactile switches or circuit board and eventually short something out.
