MPGuino for sale, 3 day auction

Trying to raise some scratch to get a kit going.

eBay Motors: MPGuino MPG Gauge for Fuel Injected Vehicles (item 180289844691 end time Sep-18-08 20:42:52 PDT)

SVOboy 09-15-2008 11:52 PM

Good timing considering axaday's post,

dcb 09-15-2008 11:55 PM

Man I feel bad about that :( The kit is overdue, I need to tune out till that's a solid.

SVOboy 09-16-2008 12:03 AM

I wasn't trying to be rude! I mean, obviously there are people who're going to want or need a kit, so the sooner the better. At the same time, none of us want to suffocate you with expectations, :p

How do you update software on that one? I don't see USB or Serial. Do you have to physically change chips to do that or what?

dcb 09-16-2008 07:04 AM

You can chip swap, or sort out the p4 header. Or you can leave it alone, it works fine like it is.

I see. But the latest (or second latest..can't remember which) software update seemed to smooth out my instant MPH. It would be something to play around with while I'm working on fixing my LCD, though. :)

ptsmith24 09-19-2008 09:35 AM

I won!

But yea, I know I paid more than what I could have built another one for. But, it's for a good cause :D

I look forward to it, dcb. Vehicle leads are still hanging out of where the glovebox in my car used to be. You should have payment already.

dcb 09-19-2008 09:40 AM

I certainly appreciate it!! The payment might be a little snafu, probably not your fault or anything, but I click on the view payment in ebay and I get an "invalid transaction number" from paypal. Can you double check your paypal account payments and see if there is a clue there?

Well, I just checked my Paypal account and it transferred successfully from my Bank Account. Then, on payment to you, the status is "unclaimed". Instead of going through eBay, try logging directly into your Paypal account and see if you can see the payment there.

dcb 09-19-2008 09:44 AM

It is not in paypal proper either. Can you PM me the email address it says on the payment?

ptsmith24 09-19-2008 09:44 AM

Sure, it's on the way just as soon as I can send it.

dcb 09-19-2008 09:55 AM

Got It! Thanks!! Will send out ASAP :)

ptsmith24 09-19-2008 10:04 AM

Awesome, thanks. Look forward to it.

Axaday 09-20-2008 06:22 PM

I didn't see this until today when the auction is already over. DCB, if you are still looking for money, money I have. What I lack is prime time soldering skills. I'll pay $100 if you want to make another.

dcb 09-20-2008 06:41 PM

No arguments here :) I'll send you a PM

ptsmith24 09-22-2008 06:57 PM

I wasn't expecting it to arrive until later this week, but I got it today. I'll probably get around to hooking it up this weekend. Although, I'm tempted to work on it tomorrow afternoon. I've got velcro and splice connectors ready to go. Now all I need is a little bit of time to get it together and I should be good to go. Thanks, again :)

By the way, I left you feedback on ebay.

dcb 09-22-2008 07:39 PM

Sweet! Let me know if you have any questions.

10-4...actually I do have one. The only connections to the car are the four (as labeled by the diagram on the "tests" wiki page)? The 7805 threw me off a little bit since there isn't one on the diecimila (I don't think...)

I uploaded the latest (v0.73) to my diecimila and swapped the chips. Hopefully I'll get it working tomorrow. I already have some decent baseline numbers to start out with. I filled up today...I should have waited until tomorrow to fill up so I could start a more exact calibration, but that can wait until next tank.

This thing is thin enough to mount (with velcro) to a little piece of upholstery between my gauge cluster and steering column.

I do wish I had a power supply rigged up so I don't have to wait until tomorrow to power it up in the car, but I can wait. This time tomorrow I should be all set up and can probably get my car back into a somewhat normal state (can't have a passenger now because there are wires, tools, and pieces of glovebox in the way still :turtle:

ptsmith24 09-22-2008 09:13 PM

Oh, another thing... I noticed the 5-pin header across the board from the +12/VSS/INJ/GND connector....what is the 5-pin header for? It wasn't in the pictures on the original (1st) MPGuino release one workspace thread. Thanks.
