mrea energy fair

Ben and ryland, I have seen your cars at the energy fair on display . Is it a hassle displaying? I mean, trailering , dropping off, picking up, where do you store the trailer etc?

Out in the field that is the parking lot there is a corner reserved for trailer parking, or you can drop your trailer in the RV camping of their "Back 40" camp ground.
For me the trailering of my car is as annoying because the car just fits the trailer so it takes a bit of attention to load and unload and it's doesn't sit with proper tongue weight so it gets unstable above 50mph and it's a 150 mile drive.
They do ask that you fill out a short form for showing a vehicle ahead of time, that way they can make sure that there is space for everyone and you'll get a exhibitor badge for your self and a friend that gets you in to the whole energy fair for the weekend.

Displaying a vehicle at the fair is fun. Be prepared to talk to A LOT of people on that weekend!

I'd love to see an E-Gator there!

They really do make it pretty easy for you. For as large of an event as it is, it's amazing how organized it is without being bureaucratic.

A big part of that goes out to the hardcore volunteers who help make it happen. (You know who you are... Ryland et. al.!)

I'm hoping to have enough work done on the Hybrid Pickup truck by then to make it worth while to show off. :snail:

The 2013 MREA Energy Fair is THIS WEEKEND!

If you are ANYWHERE near Wisconsin, some out to this three day event, which features a clean car show, solar, wind, sustainable living, construciton demos, and a zillion presentations.

Usually about 20,000 people in attendance!

Be there or be square!

I hope to see you there, I'm trying to get off work Friday (we are swamped with work) but will not be able to bring my electric gator hopefully next year

If for some reason you get a chance to show up with your EV gator, or anyone else for that matter who has a vehicle that they want to show, showing up at the last minute is not an issue! there is extra space planed for people who didn't sign up ahead of time, we moved the fence today to make the car show area bigger today and the people who are going to be helping direct folks who have vehicles to show are a few of the awesome tinkers who designed and built the wind turbines on the Otherpower | Make Your Electricity From Scratch! web site!

I do have my motorcycle together for the energy fair, it's currently sitting next to the solar charging station where a Nissan Leaf will be on display.

I might bring my solar powerwheels as well.
