Multi-Parallel Battery Charge
Hi all: Could someone shed some light on my idea of charging a chain of batteries while still connected to the load..?
I mean this: |--12V Charger--| |--12V Charger| |--12V Charger--| |------Battery-----------Battery------------Battery----| |---------------LIVE LOAD DC Motor-------------------| Do you think it may work? Anyone foresee any reasons why I should not try that? There would be all LifePo4 Cells in series nearly up to 100V, and multiple 12V alternators.. any thoughts on this are appreciated Thanks, TechieatWork |
The first question that comes to mind is "Why?". If you have a load and you have a power outlet, why cycle the batteries? Isolate them and charge them if needed, but ???

the main reason is: I wanna go completely off grid.. In normal petrol cars, alternators re-charge the single battery.. for my setup I will need multiple batteries and the mega mamoth DC motor (the load).. I am contemplating recharging with generators similar to the ones used in solar installations.. each generator for each block of 12V cells I hope I am making sense.. |
There's not enough specifics to really say much here.

what kind of generators?

I found the answer already here:
S10 EV Wiring Diagrams what kind of generators? one like this: Regeneration Braking! or even better.. one like this: Polyphase Motor/Generator Page :) |
