VIDEO: Electric Motors 101

Hey Guys,

On my YouTube subscription list, the latest episode of "EVTV" was going to show how a Warp 11 HV motor works.

It's actually a GREAT episode for a viewer to learn electric motor theory. In this one video, it covered what I learned in about 3 weeks of an electric class.

Episodes of this show tend to be long (over 2 hours!) I tried making the YouTube link skip straight to learning about motors, at about 49 and a half minutes into the program. If that doesn't work for you, manually cue it up to 49:30.

Be prepared for an hour and a half lecture on motor theory. I found it fascinating and understandable.

His physics are a bit wonky - for example: Counter-EMF is very much caused by coils that are in use.

Watching this at bedtime didn't get me far in before I fell asleep! I did try three times and finally made it through. Good info, but would have been funny to watch me try to stay awake.

Thanks for posting this Ben.
