its not perfect, but its there

i need to put 2 more screws up at the corners after the wheels...the are catching some air, plus i have some aluminum sheetmetal that i'd like to use to cover up the center where the exhaust is

then i got to figure out a good solution for doing oil changes...

lunarhighway 06-26-2008 08:06 AM

that looks really great!

for oil changes you might cut a rectangular hole in the right location and make a small hatch

i'd be interested to see what improvements you get...

my undertray is much smaller and although i don't have enough data to be sure i'm suspecing a 1.5 to 2.5 % improvement, wich is what i expected

personaly i'd be a bit worried about the exhaust heat... maybe you want to use some thin aluminum in those areas.

Oooooh ...that is nice !

Daox 06-26-2008 11:14 AM

Looks pretty good.

Nice work. Is there enough room for the air inside the engine compartment to escape?

Cd 06-26-2008 02:02 PM

If it is anything like my car, the air exits out the wheelwells.

brucey 06-26-2008 02:05 PM

Looks nice, did you just use exsisting holes to screw it on?

vtec-e 06-26-2008 03:03 PM

Good job! I'd go with lunarhighway's idea of a hole under the sump plug. If the oil filter is accessible only from the bottom, you may have to make the whole front of the bellypan removeable. Re: covering up the exhaust. I'd monitor temps in there to make sure it doesn't overheat. Naybe a naca duct at the front of the aluminium section to direct a little cool air. Or maybe the engine bay air could go down the exhaust tunnel and out at the back. Watch the gas tank though.....
Malibuguy, whats your mpg gain like with the belly pan?

Timber334 06-26-2008 05:38 PM

Well the gas tank will begin melting at a point of between 220 and 265 degrees keep it under that and you will be fine. The coroplast has an even higher melting point, you could use it as a makeshift sheild

edbso 06-27-2008 12:15 AM

I used screen over my exhaust pipes and it is working well.

For oil changes you likely will require two openings. One for the drain and the other for the filter.

You going to continue to the back bumper?
