My running ecomod log (1997 Civic DX)

Hello all! I will be documenting my mods and ideas for mods here.

Having completed my first bout of 'aero' mods, my gears are turning for a few more. I would like to use this thread for input and to chronograph what I have done.

The car is a 1997 Honda Civic/ I have done a few comfort mods and ecomods now.

I stole a good amount of interior bits from my totalled CRV. I brought over the shift knob and collar, gauge cluster, steering wheel and airbag and floormats. Yes everything fits nicely lol.

Here are some pics of my pooride and things I have done.

My car. Bone stock 1997 Civic DX with 188k miles.

Old cluster to document miles and new cluster and amber conversion.

I finished my injector kill switch last weekend. I followed CaliCivic's instructions exactly (thanks!), with exception to the shift knob. Works like a charm. I have been EOCing a lot more now that I don't have to mess with the key much anymore.

Yesterday I found a piece of coroplast by my work so I finally got about making my grill block off today.

I finished everything up today. The upper block is coroplast, the lower is cardboard reinforced and then duct-taped over and spray painted with bumper paint to protect it from elements. I am happy with everything can't wait to hit the road! No reason to today so my eagerness will have to wait until tomorrow or monday xD

My ebay lip came in last week, finally got the chance to install it all.

She's rough but the price was right.

Bumper off to install the lip.

How I mounted the block. 2 zip ties and a few pieces of 3m double sided emblem tape.

I stuck an emblem on to see how it would look lol.

Here is the front finished up with the grill blocks and lip in place.

Yay! I have installed a vacuum gauge but I don't like how it is mounted. I have a pod laying around from my ricer days I am going to try to retro fit to the steering column.

I did the same gauge swap in the Civic I had. Unfortunately, the CRV cluster I got was for an automatic, so it had the PNRD21 lights between the gas and temp gauges. I was fine driving without the tach, but it makes saving gas a bit easier with being able to see the RPM.

To finish the day out I filled my tires (cold) to 45 psi. They are all filled to 28 psi by wal mart not even a month ago. Hopefully I notice something out of everything!

Yeah I do admit I love the sweep of an analog gauge :)
