n00b with TDI in MO
Well, I've been a lurker for some time on here, but figured I'd register.
My previous car was a 2007 Toyota Yaris that I got 41 mpg average (over 10k miles). My eco-mods were lightened pulleys, 1.8" lower, Rota Slipstreams (6.5 lb lighter than the stock steelies), a warm air intake and grille block in winter. I had an ultra gauge which did pretty well. I picked up a 2011 VW Golf TDI last spring and I've been enjoying it during the break in period and I'm about ready to start eco modding to get some more out of it. My best tank thus far has been 44.3 mpg, which was all highway but in nasty weather. I've had another 300 mile trip of 47.4 mpg, so I can see some potential here. I definitely won't be an extreme eco-modder (not drilling into my <1 yr old car), but I'm definitely looking forward to some bolt on and other less aggressive modding. |
Welcome and congrats on getting a TDI! I have been enjoying my 2000 Jetta a lot more than I ever thought I would!
