Need a new 60v hub motor - XB-600
 

So I fried my stock 48v motor after a year with a 60v system. Where can I get a 60V hub motor?

I looked all over google and I cant find a 60v motor under 1000w, only 48v motors. The 60v motors are all 2kw-3kw and $750! What replacement motors are people using in their XB-600's??

I'm confused by your question, what is wrong with a 3,000 watt hub motor? or even a 1,000 watt hub motor? what you have came with a 600 watt motor and it burned up so it sounds like you were working it to hard.
does it need to be a DC motor or a 3 phase motor? if you could I would say to go with something like the Phoenix racer from ElectricRider.com it's a 72v 3 phase hub motor that can handle I think up to 40 amps so close to 3,000 amps, or plenty of power for your needs, I have one on my electric bicycle running at 33 volts and am very happy with it.

I have been pulled over several times on my scooter and got out of tickets because the motor was under 1kw, so I want to keep that going.

The prices at ElectricRider.com are cheaper than the $750 I have been seeing, I'll give them a call on Monday. thanks for the advice!

what you need to do then is to put a slow blow fuse on, if you are running at 60v then a 10 amp slow blow fuse will limit it to 600 watts, either that or make up a sticker that says "600 watt motor" and stick it on.

I really appreciate everyone's advice. I called ElectricRider.com and the guy on the phone said they only have motors for bicycles and Currie Scooters. they don't have motors for bigger scooters like the XB-600. I mentioned the phoenix racer and her said it was a high performance motor for bicycles, so I dont think a spoke motor will fit into my alum wheels. The search continues, but please keep the suggestions coming!

what size rim to do you have right now?
And do you know what type of motor you have?

Finding an replacement is the best option and teh chepest one too. But not in all the cases it works, and i know from my own experience. I have had the same issue, and even i tried to find a replacement, i came to conclusion that it will be beter to buy a new one.kart for saleAnd i was right....
