Need quick help about trailer chocks
 

So I have looked long and hard at a bolt down set up for my trailer floor, as my needs will be from a 12in tire up to 21, so I'm trying to get something one-size-fits-all. I read like three different multi product reviews and came up with the fact that the best sounding one for my application would be the steady mate 80014 which end review States that would cover the 12 to 21. Perfect I thought! I go on eBay and Amazon to try to order one, and all but a couple of sellers describe this item as being 14 inch to 21 inch not 12 to 21. I don't know if we're dealing with a typo problem, or a second generation in the product change or something, but obviously I don't want to buy the wrong product to waste money. The Honda Grom is the one that has the 12 inch tires. Apparently rotor clearance seems to be the possible issue here. Would it be possible just to cut a perfect size wood Block in the right place to jack it up 2 inches? I put down a deposit for one(the Grom) and live far enough from the dealer that the trailering aspect is quite important as I want to be ready. The bike is supposed to show up sometime during this month. I'm just trying to be ready. Helpful advice, please!!!!!!

Most chocks I have seen are about a 6x6 cut on a 45 degrees, some with a radii on the hypotenuse. The whole point is to use the vehicle weight climbing a steep hill to prevent movement. Walmart chocks seem to fit everything from 6.00-6 aircraft tires to 22" dualies, but I wouldn't use them on the dualies since they would probably collapse from the weight. Add a bungie system to keep them tight against the tires and it aint going anywhere but needs tiedowns just because.

I recognized the importance of "bolt down setup" but not knowing the form of the trailer, I failed to ask.

looks to me like your steadymate chock specifies 14-26 inch outer diameters. A Honda Grom 120/70R12 tire uses a 12 inch wheel but has an overall diameter of about 18.5 inches. The 21 inch wheel might actually be the problem - looks like an 80/90-21 would be about 27 inches and some of the motorcross 21" tires are over 28 inches in diameter.

Thank you guys for the responses. I hope you have seen my thumb nail pictures. I found exactly what I was looking for or so I thought, as two Brands presented itself to me in Internet research over in Europe. One was discontinued, and the other one does not ship to the United States yet. I've been working all day researching how to do this, and I've decided to get the $69 version at Harbor Freight Tools 15in Tire to22 holds an 1800 lb weight capacity, and I will customize it by making extra holes in the adjustable track as needed. I have looked at three or four different YouTube reviews of this where people are adding washers and plastic spacers to erase excessive slop laterally, and people using small skinny boards 1/4to 1/2 inch thick to help the bike roll over into position easier. I am bolting this to an open plywood floor trailer with additional metal strap brace under the plywood as well. I will let you know how this experiment goes! It seems unbelievable to me because of the amount of popularity that the Honda Grom now has, that more manufacturers are not making a more adjustable unit. I don't want to have to buy two separate ones and not have a bigger bike centered in the middle of the front of the trailer. It's just ridiculous. A person needs a one-size-fits-all permanent one-time solution.

I can't find the item on their website, but you get the idea. If you've got the trailer you have the hitch. This wouldn't take any more space than the deck mount between uses.

Thank you for that thought. I have considered them in the past oh, but I already have this trailer for this use. That certainly would be good for somebody with limited storage space. The deed is done. I just got home with the Harbor Freight unit.
