Negative cambers.
 

I never really noticed till I installed my new wheels, but I found out that the 8th gen civics have a negative camber in the rear for better traction. This only becomes more visible when you upgraded to bigger wheels (which I did) and now see something that may have been hurting my mpg. Then I also read that there was a silent recall for people having "too much" negative camber and now I wonder if I fall under that category.

I'm wondering if I should invest in a camber kit or stick with it and keep it for safety reasons?

My stock 16 inch steelies were pretty heavy, but I have upgraded them to 17 inch konig daylites that weigh about 14.2 lbs. It was mostly for aesthetic purposes, but I hope it will boost my mpg a tiny bit as well.

I'd at least have it checked by Honda. if it's within factory specs, leave it alone. Make sure you set the tire pressure and add some barbell weights to the drivers floorboard when you get it checked. You really want enough in there to simulate you sitting in the drivers seat. 1/2 - 3/4 tank of gas wouldn't hurt either. Negative camber is needed for a car to handle fairly well. At no time should it ever drift to positive.

Make sure you get a good tech looking at it and have them flip the sensor mounts for the alignment wheels sensors. You'd hate to have them screw up your pretty new wheels.
