Negative tempertures discovered
Just read a cool (pun intended) article about the discovery of negative tempertures, below absolute 0.

Very interesting read.
I fear it will only fuel the proponents of perpetual motion :turtle: |
First something that is faster than light, now this. What will be next??

I don't mind saying that negative temperatures make no sense to me at all. It's stranger than quantum mechanics.

Strange, but makes sense, mathematically... Below zero, everything must reverse.
Doubt it would make a useful source of energy, considering the expense needed to heat matter to near-zero K, and the tiny amount of energy you can get out of a nano-Kelvin differential, but it's fascinating to think of dark matter as negative in this manner. |
