Hello everyone. I'm glad I found such a great site. A very good read with top shelf advice.
I have a 98 civic 2-door coop with 166K on the clock. My best tank with no mods was 42mpg. It is my 62 mile DD, (half highway miles). I just refilled and got 40 mpg today. I am looking forward to trying some of the hypermiler techniques. I already drive like an old man according to my daughter. A few mods to start with will be radiator block and air dam. A couple of questions. Is zero toe safe? Will a mini kamm on the trunk deck have much value? Due to WAF (wife acceptance factor) no full kamm or boat tail. Regards, Paul Q |
Welcome. Even if a mini kamm helps 1-2% i'd put it on if it doesn't cost much to build.
I just got a 99 Civic Coupe and i was looking at the lines of the car. I think i might just use a sheet of coroplast from the top of the rear glass to the end/top of the trunk |
Thanks for the reply
The old ball and chain vetoed the kamm off the roof line. I was wondering if a mini kamm on the trunk deck would have any value? Thanks, Paul Q

0 toe might be ok if you don't drive very fast, and don't have to deal w much wind.
One of the cheapest things that might be a fun inexpensive project would be to decrease or eliminate the outside mirrors especially since if you have a pass. side one. Plenty of tips on here how to do that. A smaller driver's side can help reduce that flag effect! Don't be scared to bump up your tire psi. at least by 5psi. |
Welcome to the forum!

FYI, the 1st generation Honda Insight came with zero toe from the factory. I don't find it a problem at all.
