New to forum, but not to concept
 

Good morning all....I found out about this place from the Cummins forum. I am always interested in saving $$$ on fuel....have been for years. I've already learned a few new tips, though.

Welcome to the site. What do you drive and what kinda mileage are you getting with it?

Well, I drive a 2005 Dodge diesel, a 1996 Honda Shadow Ace 1100, a 1982 Honda GL1100 Goldwing, or a Schwinn bicycle. Mostly depending on where I'm going and the weather.
My wife drives a 2000 Saturn.
Dodge (had 3 weeks) got 19.44 mpg on first tank but just added an Edge Mileage Max.
1996 Shadow - not sure..haven't checked it, yet
1982 Goldwing - between 45-47 mpg
2000 Saturn - avg. 34 mpg combined town/highway I did get 39.7 on a trip to Ohio on
HWY 30 (lots of traffic lights!)

Sounds like you're off to a pretty good start with your vehicles. Did you have any specific areas of interest or things you're looking to do?

Mainly tips on improving my mileage on the diesel...which will also work on the other vehicles, as well. There is a lot of good stuff on here!

You mentioned your mpg's w the Goldwing. Those are nice figures from what I have heard.

Are those pretty much highway figures, and if so; at what cruising speed are you
accomplishing this?

Yes, those are mostly highway miles. I use that bike pretty much for long rides and I always do the speed limit......or less.
