Hello from Fog city

Hi,

I am from San Francisco. My commute is an eighty mile round trip from San Francisco to the South Bay here. I was using a Toyota Solara V6 for months and recently bought a used '02 Corolla for the daily commute.

I have already made changes to my driving style to improve fuel efficiency. Brought down my freeway speed from 70-75mph to 60-65mph and coasting to stops signs and traffic signals.

Now looking forward to some easy mods to help with FE.

Thanks,

- Siddhartha

Thanks Red.

I calculated my Corolla's FE for the first time today since buying it a few days back. I got 34 MPG, 260 miles on 7.6 gallons. Could do better since the car, unfortunately, ran on very low tyre pressure for 80 out of the 260 miles.

I live on a hill and the freeway exit that I take driving to work in about 1.5 miles all downhill and steep. Returning from work, I take a different route where the climb gradient is much easier on the car.

Looking forward to getting a Scangauge to monitor my blindspots and improve my driving style.
