Welcome to the forums! Get a fuel log going for the new (to you) car, and like mcrews said, instrumentation should be first priority.

Out of curiosity, what engine does the ZX2 have?

We've had some members who had a lot of success with the ZX2 (assuming manual shift).

Definitely get a MPG display in there.
