New high for commute to work - 48.2mpg!

On the way to work this morning, achieved my best ever commute.
52.53 miles
46.3 mph avg.
48.22 mpg
Drove 55 most of the time and EOC'd every chance I could. Here is a profile of my route showing the elevation change I go through every day. Home on the left and work on the right. 400'asl at the bottom of the chart and 1400'asl at the top.

Got to put on that front air dam and some rear skirts.

Thanks. The graph is from the site I use on my BB8310.

You can figure a route and then it shows the profile. BTW, I got 44.2mpg on the way home from work tonight. 46.2 avg for today!

Very impressive for a ZX2! They're not underpowered vehicles at all.

Good job Sir! Skirts and AirDam helped me a bunch too.

More commutes like that will really pull up your average!

procupine14 06-25-2010 01:51 PM

Man that sure is impressive!

brucepick 06-25-2010 07:49 PM

Nice work.
And, that's quite a bit of elevation change!

FSUspectra 06-25-2010 10:32 PM

As everyone else said, awesome job!

wagonman76 06-26-2010 03:37 AM

Hey good job man. Yeah the airdam should make a noticeable difference.

I can't see the graph and I don't have a GPS. But I bet you gain a lot going north between Elmira and Boyne Falls. 1400 ft to 700 ft in 7 miles. I'm curious, where is the 400 ft? That's 200 ft below Lake Michigan.

Hey Moorecomp, just got my best commute mpg's as well. They are just SGII readings, so I can't say they are 100% accurate, but they are the best yet for my commute. 58.8 to work, 57.2 to home :D Lean Burn is working quite well.
