Hello all I'm Zac. I recently got a job quite a distance from home and the hunt to save a dollar/dolphin or two led me here. I come from a long line of car guys, my grandfather races dragsters and my dad is all about detroit iron. I quickly developed a preference for lightweight, nimble cars though I absolutely love the hot rodding purity of pieced together rat rods. The thing is I see no reason cars can't be fun and earth friendly and (much to my elders chagrin) gravitated towards smaller sixers and 4bangers. Now while my beat up saturn isn't the highest performance pony on the block, I'm sure glad I don't have anything that burns more gas. I'm really getting into this style of driving, its a different kind of challeng and I look forwards to honing my skills. I probably won't mod this one too much before I ship it but already I have an idea or two up my sleeve for the next one ;-)

Welcome! Looks like you're already doing pretty well 39 mpg vs the combined EPA rating of 25 mpg.

Your SL2 has a factory MPG gauge?

No I wasn't sure what to put there. It comes factory with an odometer and a gas gauge, that counts right? :p I'm sure I'll be getting some sort of gauge soon. In the mean time I'll keep lurking around gathering info. And checking out Diesel_Dave's build wow man that is impressive from one of those cummins. Thanks for the welcome guys!

HA! True about the gas gauge + odometer. Funny. A very low resolution MPG gauge.

Definitely get an aftermarket gauge though. It's what makes driving for economy most fun - turns it into a game.
