new member in a mazda 6
 

hello people I'm new to this interesting site I'm going to be doing most of my logs manually for awhile cause i don't have $140 to spare for a ScanGaugeII.

anyway I'm driving a 2004 Mazda 6 (S trim) without any mods yet. but i did just purchase a k&n typhoon intake to replace the OEM one that I managed to tear a hole in through silicone hose of.

anyway I'm good for recommendations for the next mod and i will try to get the money for a ScanGaugeII, but no promises.

I'd say forget the intake. Nobody has ever tested a cold air "performance" intake here and shown it has any benefits to mileage. It might give you a tiny bit more horsepower is all.

I suggest starting with the 100+ hypermiling tips list (up top) and the 65+ mods list. These are proven ways to increase your mileage.

Is it a manual transmission? If so a kill switch can help you coast while using no gas at all.

Loose the trunk wing, wind deflector -if you have one, and unscrew the roof mount antenna for starters.
