Scepter from NZ

Hi, I am from New Zealand and I am driving an SXV15 Toyota Scepter wagon. It's a relatively cheap car to run since it has a 2.2 liter engine and I converted it to a manual transmission more than a year ago. It's a good thing I found ecomodder since I am into reducing to much Hydrocarbon dependence.

Welcome to the forum. Never been to NZ, but I saw it on the video feed from the International Space Station last week!

I Googled "Toyota Scepter", since I wasn't familiar with it. We know them as the Camry here. My family has had probably 8 or 10 of them through the years.

A manual transmission conversion is a big job. Nice going!

Scepters are made in the USA for the Japanese market. They have the same platform as the Camry but slightly wider and body and of course a different chassis type - SXV15. They are very reliable cars, very. I'm really impressed how members here race toward the lowest mpg.

Welcome to EM! I have been to New Zealand and it is a wonderful place. My family and I spent 2 months or so there, back in 1982. I took 10 rolls of slides and almost every one is a keeper:
